We Are Society of Eminent Chest Physicians.

Since 1980

The Indian Chest Society (ICS) is a not for profit registered society with the Society of Registrars (Registration No. 192-1980, dated 18th July 1980), for Respiratory & Pulmonary and other Physicians with interest in the specialty of Respiratory Medicine. A committee of eminent Chest Physicians, who were also the founding members took up the task to prepare the constitution of the society. The first General Body Meeting was held on 11th September 1981 at Hotel President, Mumbai, and the Constitution was adopted.

Respire (May-August 2023)

Over the past year or so, ICS has gone ahead with several academic activities with nearly 100 CMEs, seminars, and symposia. Many state chapters have organized many CMEs and conferences despite the COVID situation.

Choose Membership

LIFE MEMBERSHIP

Eligibility Criteria
  • Life members can vote and stand for elections to the Governing Body
  • A doctor who is an MD/DM in Respiratory Medicine, from any University.
  • A doctor who is an MD in General Medicine, but is attached to any hospital as a Pulmonary Physician.
  • Diploma holders in Respiratory Medicine or DNB in respiratory Medicine

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP

Eligibility Criteria
  • Associate members can neither vote nor stand for elections to the Governing Body.
  • PG Students can become Associate members by submitting a certification from their Head of Department stating that they have been registered for an MD in Respiratory Medicine. Upon submission to the ICS, of their MD certificate, their membership will be converted to the Life Membership category.
  • Any other physician holding an MD or diploma may also become an Associate Member of the Society.
