After a lengthy hiatus, the much loved ICS certified Spirometry Technician Training Course and workshop was conducted
under the aegis of National Allergy Asthma Bronchitis Institute Kolkata at Lung Care Clinic Mogra , West Bengal on 29th
and 30th March 2025.
30 technicians were educated on basic lung anatomy and physiology, and spirometry. The two day workshop encompassed
all major topics including methods and manoeuvres of spirometry and indications, contraindications and interpretation.
The certified course allows respiratory technicians to be proficient and qualified in performing office and lab spirometry.
This is a valuable skill in 2025, as air pollution and number of new cases of chronic respiratory illnesses are at an all time
high. The course was well received by the participants. Esteemed local and outside faculty were generous with their time
and expertise, and the participants gained a wealth of knowledge and skills!
